Rescue Efforts Continue as Landslides, Bridge Collapse Reported
Drone footage has captured the extent of the devastation caused by a 6.8-magnitude earthquake that struck southeastern Taiwan on Sunday afternoon, collapsing a bridge and damaging buildings and highways.
The earthquake, Taiwan's strongest in a quarter century, rocked the island during the morning rush hour on Wednesday, causing widespread damage. Video footage has emerged of a man narrowly escaping injury while swimming during the massive tremor.
Dashcam footage also captured a large landslide coming down a mountain in Taiwan, triggered by the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that killed several people and left thousands of homes without power.
Rescue efforts are currently underway, with authorities confirming that at least nine people have been killed and over 900 injured in the powerful earthquake.
