Stoke vs Hull predictions and stats: Side with The Potters at a generous price

Stoke City vs Hull City | Saturday 10th September 2022, 15:00

Michael O'Neill's Stoke welcome Hull to the bet365 Stadium in the Championship on Saturday afternoon. Read our free predictions and find the latest odds for the game below.

Stoke vs Hull Betting Tips

Stoke can extend their unbeaten home start to the season with a narrow victory over Hull this weekend. The Potters have held their own against more fancied opponents at the bet365 Stadium so far and should fancy their chances against a Tigers side who have lost their last two games. A 1-0 home win looks a good bet while backing Harry Souttar to score anytime could also pay dividends.

  • Harry Souttar to score anytime @ 5/1

Stoke vs Hull Preview

Stoke's bright start to the new campaign was halted by a 2-0 defeat at Wigan last weekend. Michael O'Neill's side have made an impressive start to the season at the bet365 Stadium, though, and could have few better opportunities to return to winning ways than against a Hull side who have lost their last two games and are without a win on their travels this season.

Hull have also drawn a blank in front of goal in their last two away games and their hopes of ending that drought could be hindered by the absence of top scorer Oscar Estupinan, who has scored three goals in his last four games but is set to join Blackburn.

How the bookies view it

Stoke are marginal favourites to win the game at 11/10 with Hull priced at 13/5 for the victory. A draw, which would be Hull's third draw in four games, is available at 12/5.

Recent form

Stoke have won two, drawn one and lost one of their four league games so far this season. They have also won both of their home games in the Championship this term, scoring twice and conceding once. Hull, meanwhile, have won one, drawn one and lost two of their four league games so far this season. They are yet to win away in the league this season (D1, L1).

Head to head

The last meeting between Stoke and Hull was in November 2021, and Hull won 2-0 at the MKM Stadium. Stoke have won only one of the last 10 meetings between the two teams (D5, L4), although that victory did come in their last meeting at the bet365 Stadium.

Players to watch

Tyrese Campbell is Stoke's top scorer this season with two goals in four games. The 22-year-old has scored three goals in his last six games against Hull.

Hull's Regan Slater has scored in each of his last two games. The midfielder has scored two goals in his last eight league games.

Anything else I need to know?

Callum Elder and Ben Wilmot are both injury doubts for Stoke. Oscar Estupinan is a doubt for Hull while Ryan Longman and Allahyar Sayyadmanesh are both ruled out.
